I Am Odd

“We preach either under the promise of baptism, ‘Come forth, be washed, and you shall be odd,’ or the mandate of baptism, ‘You are washed, you are ordained, you are odd’
-William Willimon Peculiar Speech

What does it mean to be odd? One thing it means to me is that I am bought by Jesus and I am not my own, I am washed of my sin and guilt, given a new life daily and called to proclaim the goodness of what Christ has done for me and you to everyone I meet.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
1 Peter 2:9

  1. Thanks for sharing Bonnie :)One thing my dad has been telling me is that if I am hated for being "odd" than that is a good thing. He also said that it is odd to get help or say "I can't do it on my own. Will you help me?"

    Anyways, have fun in Hawaii! Hope to see you soon :)

  3. Hi Bonnie! It is true. Someone was just telling me the same thing... We are odd, and we have a different language than the world, and that is a good thing.

    I miss you and your family!
    How was Maui?
