Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

We sang this song in church on Sunday and all week I have had it running through my mind. It reminds me of these scriptures...

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the
will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:15-17

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD. Psalm 138:5

  1. Hi Bonnie, Welcome back home. As we meditate on God's Word scriptures do come to mind. It says in Psalm 77:6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, and my spirit makes diligent search. Bless you.

  2. Thank you for posting this song. It made me think of
Mark 4:19 which says "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful." The devil is always there wanting us to look for something besides Jesus. The song also made me think of how faithful and good the Lord realy is to us even when we don't deserve it. He wants us to look to Him so He can give us the desires of our hearts. In life and in death we serve a merciful, gracious God.
