Summer Picnic

What a nice little surprise, the sun was shining. After the last couple days, it was quite nice to look out my window and see sunshine rather than gray skies foretelling of wind storms. After doing a couple jobs on my list, I started thinking, “What would be something fun to do with Ruby and Crystal on a nice day like this?” This thought tumbled around in my head while I kept on with my work. I was ironing my last thing and I looked on the table and there was this magazine. It had a section about the best sandwiches. I flipped through the pages, I just had to make one of these, I couldn’t resist. I decided a picnic in our backyard would be pretty fun so I got out a basket and started making lunch. I put everything we needed into the basket and grabbed my book, camera, and some blankets and set out for lunch. It was a little breezy so we wrapped ourselves with blankets as we sat down to eat. After seeing us girls with our picnic, Rose rushed home and made her and Daisy lunch and scampered back on over to join the fun. How relaxing. It was so nice to sit out in the yard with my cousins and sisters. It was tempting to fall asleep outside. I was so comfortable all wrapped up in my blanket lying out in the sun, but life must go on and after lunch there’s always dishes. So, with that thought in mind, I got to my feet and started to cleanup. A couple hours later I went up to my Grandpa and Grandmas and watched Ruby, Crystal, Rose, Katharine Grace, and Emma. I snapped a couple pictures of them while they swam and played in the yard.
